<p><strong>ABOUT THE ARTISTS</strong></p>
<p>Born and raised New Yorker <a title="Jeffrey Lewis" href="http://www.thejeffreylewissite.com/" target="_blank">Jeffrey Lewis</a> is probably most known for his five albums of folk and rock and noise (on the Rough Trade record label), but when he&#8217;s not touring the world with his band he makes comic books, like his current self-published series Fuff, as well as sometimes writing, drawing and/or singing various projects for The New York Times, The Mountain Goats, The History Channel and others.</p>
<p><a title="Jason Little" href="http://www.beecomix.com/" target="_blank">Jason Little</a> is the author of the &#8220;Bee&#8221; graphic novels <em>Motel Art Improvement Service</em> and<em>Shutterbug Follies</em>. He is presently at work on the third volume, entitled <em>The Night Seminar.  </em></p>
<p><a title="Matthew Thurber" href="http://www.tomatohouse.org/" target="_blank">Matthew Thurber</a> lives and works in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn. His new book INFOMANIACS will be released by PictureBox in Fall 2013. Thurber was a 2010 NYFA fiction fellow for his graphic novel &#8220;1-800-MICE&#8221;. He makes films, animation, and music and co-curates Tomato House gallery.</p>
<p><a title="Lauren R. Weinstein" href="http://www.laurenweinstein.com/" target="_blank">Lauren R. Weinstein</a> is a cartoonist who is still recovering from having a baby and moving to the suburbs of New Jersey.  Her comic books include <em>Girl Stories</em> and <em>The Goddess of War</em>, and her work has been published in <em>Kramer&#8217;s Ergot, The Ganzfeld, An Anthology of Graphic Fiction,</em> and <em>The Best American Comics</em> of 2007 and 2010.</p>
<p><em> </em><a title="R. Sikoryak" href="http://www.rsikoryak.com/" target="_blank">R. Sikoryak</a> is the author of <em>Masterpiece Comics</em> (Drawn &amp; Quarterly). He’s drawn for <em>The Onion, The New Yorker</em>, <em>GQ, MAD, SpongeBob Comics, </em>and<em> Nickelodeon Magazine</em>, among many other publications, as well as the TV series <em>The Daily Show with Jon Stewart</em> and <em>Ugly Americans.</em> He’s hosted Carousel since 1997.</p>

Sikoryak&#8217;s long-running series of performative comics readings, comes to <a href="http://www.comicsandgraphicsfest.com">The Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival</a>, accompanied by slide projection, live drawing, and other multimedia surprises.</p>
<p>Cartoonists <a href="http://www.king-cat.net">John Porcellino</a>, <a href="http://wordswithoutborders.org/contributor/nine-antico">Nine Antico</a>, <a href="http://www.mollycolleenoconnell.com">Molly Colleen O’Connell</a> and more will read from their work. Norwegian comics collective <a href="http://www.dongery.no">Dongery</a> will perform, and <a href="http://www.rsikoryak.com">Sikoryak</a> will present a live drawing demonstration. Franco-Belgian comics publisher <a href="http://www.fremok.org">Frémok</a> will make a special presentation of their astounding, rarely screened short film <em>Match de catch à Vielsam</em>, documenting their incredible comics collaborations at an arts center for persons with mental disabilities. Join us for this special show of comics voices from across the country and around the world.</p>
